My name is Joey Welsh, and I am a NYC performer originally from Vienna, Virginia.
Although I formally began my theater training in college, I exercised my love for entertaining long before, incorporating comedic impressions, piano and trombone instrumentation, and dance routines into any presentational opportunity I was given in early education. Since then, I have performed in Off-Broadway theaters from Ithaca to NYC, ranging from the most dramatic Tennessee Williams pieces to comedic sketch comedy with Upright Citizen Brigade's House Sketch Comedy Team.
Notable influences on my work include Jim Carrey, Will Ferrell, Robin Williams, Chris Tucker, Andy Serkis, Rowan Atkinson, Steve Carell, and more. Most notably, though, are my mother, my father, and my friends, who have all shaped my confidence and comedic sensibilities to this day.
